Most people are less interested in becoming an architect than in employing one. This can be expensive, adding 10 to 20 percent to the total cost of construction, but the advantages of having an architect maybe well worth the price tag. An architect holds a degree certifying knowledge far beyond that of many engineers, and offers not only the creative home design and ability to execute this design, but also continual supervision throughout the project.
